Three Piece Suits

With the weather getting colder, its time to start layering our clothes. If you want to keep it casual you would consider a button down, with a cardigan over it, and then throw on a trench of a pea coat. On the flip side if you are going somewhere and the attire will be Business or Formal the third piece that needs to be added would be a vest. The good thing about vests are they can be worn year round, should it be too hot for a blazer. Below are some ideas on how to wear a three piece suit. Keep in mind that the third piece should be the same as the rest of the suit, please dont try and be fashion forward and throw a random color in, the pop of color will come from the tie fellas.

2. Simon Spurr

Fall Necessities

Ok lets just hop right into the meat and potatoes. Fall, hands down has to be the greatest season for fashion, from the trench coats to pea coats, scarves, gloves, hats, and all other apparel.

One of the necessities that every man should have in his wardrobe in a nice pea coat. When i think of pea coats, one name comes to mind. BURBERRY! A Burberry coat is a wise investment, about 95% of the coats they make are timeless and you can wear for years to come. Pea coats come in a variety of colors, lengths, and styles. Personally the perfect pea coat for any man, no matter the height or weight, is a coat that falls a little below the waist line, double breasted, and something a little tapered in at the waste to give you a slimmer look. Below are a few trench from a variety of different price points. Enjoy fellas.

Summer Suits

Now that summer is approaching quickly, this doesn't mean you have to sacrifice the necessities, such as your suit. Wearing a suit could make the difference when going to an interview, or going to meet some friends for lunch or dinner. Most people know suits to be hot, however cotton suits are the greatest solution to staying cool and dressing GQ. A nice khaki colored cotton suit is just the statement you need to make this summer. Pair it with a gingham shirt and a bold tie to take away from the little checkered boxes on the shirt. And instead of doing a silk pocket sqaure go for something more lightweight like bandanna material or madras one. And PLEASEE now black shoes! A khaki colored suit will stand out phenomenally paired with a pair of chocolate brown leather lace up Guccis!

Clothing from the picture: Suit, Club Monaco, $378. Shirt, Ermenegildo Zegna, $295. Tie, The Tie Bar, $15. Pocket square, Steven Alan, $35. Shoes, J.M. Weston, $910. Watch, Omega.

Tote Bags for Men

Fellas traveling somewhere and need to take some stuff with you? Instead of stuffing everything into your pockets there is a new solution to all your problems! While carrying a backpack is immature, carrying a tote is the solution. No carrying a tote is not feminine at all! Top designers as Gucci, Burberry, Louis Vuitton, and even other stores such as Express and J. Crew. Mens totes are very masculine and is the greatest way to carry all your necessities such as your wallet, laptop, keys, if you are going to an interview your resume or portfolio, or if your going to a business meeting you can put all your materials needed for your presentation. They are also versatile, you can take them to the beach, you can take them on vacation and put your clothes in for the weekend.

Polo Everywhere!!!!

Ok, so I'm tired of seeing Polo everywhere, tis the reason i threw out 13 polos from Ralph Lauren, 4 pairs of shorts, 2 jackets, and 5 pairs of sneakers. I understand that everyone wants to feel like they are wearing something exclusive because they have on Ralph Lauren, and people with some type of wealth wear Ralph Lauren, truth of the matter is you just lessened the value of his clothing. I dont like the clothing wave that seems to happen everytime someone wears something and everyone wants to wear it! This happened with hollister, abercrombie, American Eagle, and now Polo. Give it a rest a diversify yourself from everyone else. It fine if you own a couple of things, but your entire closet should not be Ralph Lauren cause now you just look like a tacky person trying to portray something they are not! So please tone it down and look for labels that not many people wear, it will make you stick out in a good way. Having style isn't just about wearing something stylish, having style is how you put it together with who you are.

Louboutins for Men!!!! Oh My Christian

Oh Christian, How I love thee! Christian Louboutin is world known for making some of the most beautiful woman's shoes. Everyone knows about these red soled pumps and boots that have been spotted every where, from Sarah Jessica Parker in Sex and the City, to Alicia Keys, Mary J. Blige, Eve, the list goes on and on! Well fellas have you ever seen a nice pair of woman's shoes and think that designer could make millions of dollars more if the branched out into the mens footwear field as well. Well Mr. Louboutin has done exactly that! Creating a couple of sneakers for men as well as some loafers. When looking into the entertainment industry who could you see wearing these you might wonder. Well these fantastic shoes have been spotted on Mr. Kanye West, as well as Swiss Beats. Swiss Beats is actually a good friend of Christian and when the shoes were first released Swiss blogged about them, and he has even gotten his son into wearing theses kicks. So all my gentlemen out there, these shoes do cost a pretty penny though, about $1200. So lets see who has them first?

Infamous Gucci Belt

Ok fellas enough is enough!!!! Please stop trying to rock that fake Gucci belt! No you did not buy that from the Gucci store, first of all the hardware isnt the same, and second the color on the belt is different. Nothing irks my nerves more than seeing a guy with a fake Gucci belt. If you cant afford it, dont go to Jamaica Ave. and try and get one for $45. You will be lucky to find one for $150 and still if you do just waddle yo ass down to the Gucci Store and buy the real thing for $195.

Make A Statement With Your Shoes

Ok as the summer gets closer and closer, our wardrobes need updating. The quickest update is to buy new shoes. While clothes tend to last for a while, spotting last seasons shoes is something you dont want to be caught with this year. An iconic outfit for the summer seems to be the all white look, but please dont get caught in all white clothes with some dusty white sneakers. That is a fail on your life. Please be a little more daring and keep the white shirt with the white pants, but add some color to your shoes. Drivers seem to be an investment that will up the style of your outfit no matter if you pair it with jeans, linen pants, or even slacks. Below are couple of drivers that will give you some nice color this summer.

1. Ralph Lauren Jerald Suede Driver $425
2. Prada Leather Moccasins $420
3. Tod's Lacetto Altraversion Driver $425

Hope to see you all with some of these on this summer!

Best Places to Shop

Dear Fellas, H&M should not be your one stop shopping heaven for everything. While you can find a couple of pieces that will enhance your wardrobe, the quality of H&M's clothing isn't exactly long lasting. So with the money you spend on buying the same pair of jeans 2 or 3 times, you could have just spent the money on one good pair of jeans that will last you forever. A couple of stores are great when shopping for men. J. Crew offers a more preppy style of clothing for men, but you can still find essentials if you don't want that preppy look. Their jeans fit basically every body type, the broken in t's are fantastic, and the the jackets are one for every style. Another amazing store is Uniqlo. Uniqlo is one of those stores that has everything! You can find suits to jeans, button-downs to t's. Dress shoes to to sandals. Best point is, the prices! You could get a great modern fitting suit for about $150. Stock up on t's each running about $12.50, and lets not mention sale. There are tons of J. Crews scatter through out the NY area. Uniqlo is an international store with one store in the entire United States, in the Heart of Soho on Broadway. So fellas, maybe its time to change your wardrobe and start dressing more like men instead of little Boys. Enjoy!

10 Commandments of Style

OK so here are the 10 Style Commandments on how to look you best.

1. Honor Thy Tailor! Please get your jeans hemmed, I'm tired of seeing guys with their jeans underneath the shoes. Also every man should own at least one suit, and don't just buy a suit and throw it on. Take it to the tailor and have them fit it to your body type.

2. Thou Shalt Not Wear Sneakers Made For A Man! Its fine to own sneakers, but use the for the gym. If you are going to wear sneakers keep them simple; Sack Purcell, Sperry's, and things along this line.

3. Thou Shalt Invest In The Right Timepiece! Buy a watch that is convertible, a nice stainless steal watch will go with your jeans for when you dress casually, and it will also look nice when you dress it up with a blazer.

4. Thou Shalt Match Thy Socks With Thy Suit! I'm tired of seeing guys with black dress pants and brown sock, or brown pants with Grey socks, STOP IT!!! Invest in the 3 main colors Black, Brown, and Grey.

5. Thou Shalt Not Wear A Tie That Is Too Slim! OK men unless you are a size 30 in pants you should not wear a super skinny tie. If you want to go for a more modern look go with a tie measuring 3 inch at its widest point, as opposed to a tie measuring 4-5 inches at the widest point.

6. Thou Shalt Put Thy Wallet On A Diet! Nothing bothers me more than seeing a guy with bulging pockets due to a wallet the size of a textbook. Throw out you wallet and invest in a credit card holder for you main cards (i.d., and a couple of credit cards). And for your cash fold it in half and stick it in a money clip.

7. Thou Shalt Wear The Right Tie With The Right Tux! OK if you are wearing a tux you are most likely going out to a formal event, so the right tie is essential. A bow tie goes with a peak-lapel tux, and a tie goes with a straight notch lapel. Also the tie should match the fabric on the lapel, if your lapel is satin go with a satin tie. Also your tie should be black, colored ties are for the prom.

8. Thou Shalt Wear Brown Shoes With Nearly Everything! When I see a guy in black dress shoes it tell me they are unsure of themselves, and have low self confidence. Dark brown shoes will up the style on any outfit! Pair it with Grey, Khaki, or Dark Navy pants to get a real wow effect. Everyone will notice your shoes.

9. Thou Shalt Learn When To Cuff Thy Pants! The secret to cuffing your pants is simple, straight pants = no cuff! If you are wearing pants with a single pleat then you can cuff your pants. BUT!!! your cuff should not be more than 1.5 inches

10. Remember Thy Undershirt! Skipping the undershirt is a clean and stylish look. However if you are a very hairy guy or you perspire a lot you might want to put an undershirt on. If you a wearing a white shirt that is fairly see through, put on a crew neck t. If you wear a v-neck or a tank top you will be able to see the lines and that looks cheesy. If you want to wear a tank top go for a shirt with stripes or a checkered shirt. Or go for a shirt with a harder fabric so that seeing the undershirt is nearly impossible.

White Pants for Men

Ok so today im going to discuss white pants for men. There is a simple technique for choosing white jeans, stick with a slim cut jean. Dark colors usually make you appear smaller, so obviously lighter color will make you appear to be bigger, but you have choose the pant that fit your body type correctly in order to pull off these pants. Every pair of pants are cut differently so shop around b4 choosing one. Below are a couple that usually fit every body type.
  1. Polo $98
  2. AG (Adriano Goldschmied) Jeans $160
  3. J. Crew $72.50
  4. Gucci $475
  5. Joe's Jeans $168
  6. 7 For All Mankind $169

I personally own the AG's and the ones from J. Crew, but i have the ones from 7 but not in white in black, and all three fit really comfortably, the ones from 7 actually have a lot of stretch in them so dont buy the bigger size.

Suiting for Every Man

Ok so im going to talk about suiting for guys today. Every man needs at least one good suit. An epidemic that is sweeping the nation is ill-tailored men all over! There is nothing nastier than a man with clothes that do not fit! Plain and simple, how do you expect to impress a girl if you look like you bout your suit from Walmart and didn't have a tailor to fit it to your exact size. No one man is the same! So here are different things every guy can do to make his suit work better for him.

First off, the Short Man is usually 5'8" and under 165 pounds. You want to avoid long sports coats/blazers cause it will make you legs look shorter than they are, also you want to stick with slim ties amd slim lapels, it will give you added height you dont have. No belts! when you break up your look it actually makes you look shorter than you are, with a good suit you wont need a belt. And for your shoe keep it slim, you dont want a wide shoe to where it makes you look like you have cement blocks attached to your feet.

The 5 Tips Every Short Man Should Know

1) Be honest with yourself. Admit you’re short and buy short-length suits.

2) A pant leg with very little break will help you look taller.

3) Show some cuff to lengthen the look of your arms.

4) A peak lapel helps elongate your physique.

5) A lower button stance creates long lines, and that essentially stretches you out.

Next, The Tall Man is usually 6 foot tall and can be any weight. Tall guys becomes tricky when you throw different sizes into it, not everyone can follow the same guide, however when you are tall its all about lines, you want to appear tall not look gargantuan. So blazers that covers about 1/3 of your thigh, then adding things to give you other dimension than tall. Ties with diagonal lines on them are perfect cause the give you height and width, but not to much of each. Also add a pocket square to your blazer, it will give the person looking at your a break from seeing the one color of you suit, also breaking up it, so that you dont appear to be godzilla. Which brings us to your shoes, chances are if you are tall you have big feet, its just a fact of life, do not and i repeat doooo not!!!!! wear pointy shoes it will just makes your foot look bigger than it is.

The 5 Tips Every Tall Man Should Know

1) Lighter colors add width to a narrow frame.

2) A two-button suit works great on a tall man—as long as the suit has relatively high-cut lapels.

3) Just because you’re tall doesn’t mean you need an extra-long suit size. Try on a long first.

4) Keep the amount of cuff you show to a minimum.

5) Ask for a decent amount of break in your trousers, so your long legs don’t look too long.

The guy body physique is The Oversized Man, about 5'9" and 230+ pounds. A common thing that happens to larger men is they tend to buy suits that are boxy. They dont help make the man appear smaller than what he actually is. Using suspenders is actually a great when to stay comfortable, they keep your pants up and they keep them loose around the waist, also the maneuver with your body and float your waist line. Go for a more solid shoe, a classic one is wing tips! Cant go wrogn with wing tips. Also try stick to darker colored suits, they make you appear to be smaller than what you actually are.

The 5 Tips Every Large Man Should Know

1) Wear a pocket square. It brings the focus to your chest, not your gut.

2) Keep your jacket buttoned unless you’re sitting down.

3) Wear a simple, elegant shirt. Avoid plaids and checks.

4) You can wear flat-front pants. They are engineered to be comfortable, even without pleats.

5) Avoid superskinny ties and lapels. Proportion with your torso is key

Last but not least is the overtly Muscular Man, they tend to be various heights and tend to be under 210 pounds. Something to avoid when you are muscular is pocket squares, you dont have to add an accessory to your chest when its clearly big enough to be noticed without you little pocket square. Purchase a custom fit dress shirt, its broader on top, and it tapers in around the torso so you dont have a bunch of fabric hanging around on the inside of your jacket. For you a shoes that is a cross over between a pointy toe shoe and a round toe shoe, and something plain and classic like the wingtips. Because your body is a focal point you dont need to over do it.

The 5 Tips Every Athletic Man Should Know

1) A solid build doesn’t mean your suit should be a size too large.

2) Two-button jackets sync up with the V shape of your torso.

3) Low-collar shirts work well with a thicker neck.

4) Your jacket will likely need to be taken in at the sides.

5) Yes, you can wear narrow-cut trousers. It’s your chest that needs room, not your ankles.

  6. Straw Fedoras - a great look with a light weight button down, with rolled up sleeves, cargo shorts or chino shorts, and boat shoes. Dont forget to add a watch and a pair of plastic aviators.

Every Man's Must Have For This Spring

OK so today's post is going to be on Fashion Must Have's for men. This year has been all about layers for men, simple jeans and a t-shirt are out, and a button down, cardigan, chinos, and loafers are all the rave.

Our first must have is the denim button down shirt. With the denim button down you can pair it numerous amounts of ways. As shown below its paired with a chino blazer and a pair of chino pants. It can also be paired with a nice pair of distressed denim and a cardigan.

Next must have is the plaid shirt. Last season we saw a large number of plaid shirt productions. This spring semester the colors are brighter and more shocking then ever. Shown below is plaid shirt from Brand of Outsiders. J Crew also happens to have a full range of colors.

This spring we are seeing a lot of color blocking, with bright v-necks and even brighter under shirt. As i have stated the v-neck with the button down underneath is all the rave. Shown below we have a turquoise shirt from Etro Polo paired with a muted green polo from Dsquared2. Also the orchard color v-neck is from Bottega Veneta, paired with an orange polo from Lacoste.
Stayed tuned for more fashion Must Have's

Bad Girls Club Season 4 Reunion

So tonight started part 1 of the BGC Reunion. First I wanna talk about the Flo and Natalie dispute, now the commercials always make the fights seem longer then the actually are. However, in my opinion i think Flo tore Natalie apart. A friend of mine was telling me how she thought Flo was out of control from when Kendra looked at her with a stink face. However I feel that if anyone is sitting across from someone who they don't like and the person looks at them sideways they are going to be ready to fight. Lets move on to Kate and Annie, do i feel Kate was wrong for hitting Annie, I sure am. I used to like Kate until she started following Natalie around and acting like her little prodigy. Kate turned from Classy to classless in the couple of weeks that she stayed in the house. In my opinion Kendra is the fakest girl in the house. And who told Amber to go and get pregnant by the predator. Im scared to see what their child is going to look like. Lexie to me is so cute, I would love to have her as a friend, for the simple fact that she would make me look a million times smarter.

Ill post the video in a later post. But for now

"Enjoy everyday like its your last because tomorrow isn't guaranteed!"

My Thoughts on Apples iPad.

Thoughts on the iPad.

So I want to talk about the iPad today. It is starting to turn into a highly criticized innovation. Some people are saying that it is just a big iPod Touch and others are saying it will revolutionize the world of technology as we see it. Personally I want one, not for the fact that I will use it as a computer, but more as an eReader. On the iPad you will be able to book puts on it so you can read at your convenience, also for all my college students you will be able to put your college textbooks on it. How many people spend over $100 on a used textbook from the bookstore and you just end up selling it back for like $25. Well on the iPad most textbooks are under $65, and you basically rent it for 180 days, which is 6 months. And if you are reading in your textbook and don't understand the topic, they have videos from youtube built right in. The greatest part of it is the touch capability, in the book you are able to highlight, flag pages to study later, and they also give you a study guide at the end of it section so you can brush up on your skills before you take a test in class. Another great feature on the iPad watching movies. The battery last 10 hours of watching movies, so you will be able to watch 4 movies, depending on the length maybe 5. Another great feature is the ability to use iWork on the iPad. While no one would want to sit and type a 10 page paper on a touch screen item, they do sell a keyboard that attaches right to the iPad. What makes using iWork a great feature is the fact that you use your fingers to drag and drop picture exactly where you want them. I know a lot of people hate being restricted when it comes to putting a picture in the right place. So how do you guys feel about it?

Portarying Stereotypes and Things of That Nature

Ok I wanna touch on something that as him sitting on my mind for sometime now. Sometimes I wonder why do people act in different inappropriate ways when they know people are watching. I'm talking about portraying stereotypes among us minority communities. If people look at Blacks and Spanish people as being uncivil or "out of control" why do we continue to act the way we do, and for those who don't act like the rest we criticize them? I also want to talk about the so called "riot" that happened the other day at Uniondale High School. I don't too much understand what was going through the students heads at the time, but it seems like they were copying off of Hempstead High School, which by the way had a deeper issue then just trying to get out of school early. Not only are the students just being crazy through the school but people are seriously getting hurt from some of the actions. So tell me guys how do you feel about minorities portraying stereotypes?
